During the last six months we have attended accessibility Conferences around the world, we have also organized our own project events, and had stands in different events to present our latest outcomes and help spread the word.
Dr Vanderheiden (RtF-I) held a videoconference in the World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS): Making ICT accessibility a reality. P4A was also present in a networking event in the 2016 Social Forum organized by the Human Rights Council.
P4A had a stand in the Tech4Good Conference organized in Brussels by Techsoup. Partner IDRC presented the latest project outcomes in the Universal Inclusion Rights and Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities in the Academic Context and in the Think Conference. Opendirective within the Technology for Independence Conference (Nov. 28th, Sheffield), made a presentation related to their work done in P4A: “Stepping Stones for people with cognitive disabilities and low digital literacy”.
P4A also attended events targeted to mainstream companies and industry stakeholders. In this sense, ENG presented their P4A implementation in the OW2 Conference and the Paris Open Source Summit. In the startup ecosystem, Partner FONCE had a stand in the South Summit Conference held in October in Madrid where P4A was presented to entrepreneurs and investors. LIFETOOL also presented their P4A implementation in the Integra Fair and Partner AGE presented P4A in the #AgeingSummit in Brussels to Policy makers, innovators & key stakeholders.
Additionally, we have organized workshops targeted to different audiences. Partner ENG held workshops in an Italian school and RtF-I held a Inclusive Design workshop with NGOs. Martin Deinhofer of the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien presented the Prospertiy4All project at the AsTeRICS Academy 2016.
At a European level, RtF-I presented the project to potential partners in the ICT Proposer’s Day in Bratislava and in the Interfaces for Accessibility Infoday organized in Luxembourg.
.. And we have much more to come in 2017!
